What is a Blog?
So you’ve heard the term “Blog” and you want to know what blogs are all about. A blog is a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web (WWW) consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries that is called as posts.
Blog is a short form for the word web-log and the two words are used interchangeably. It contains in its four letters a concise and accurate self-description.
In other word, A Blog is a frequently updated online personal journal or diary. A Blog is a place where you can express yourself to the world.
Previously, you need to have knowledge of File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP) technology to publish content on the Website but in late 1990s, the emergence and growth of blogs coincided with the advent of web publishing tools that facilitated the posting of content by non-technical users who did not have much experience with File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP) technology.
There are various types of Blogs: Personal Blogs, Collaborative Blogs or Group Blogs, Micro Blogging, Aggregated Blogs, Corporate and Organizational blogs.
The simple experience of being able to directly broadcast your own words to readers is by using a Blog. Many political candidates began to use blog as tools for outreach and opinion forming. The role of blogs became increasingly mainstream, as political consultants, news services, and various political candidates in Russia.
You can also use your Blogs for advertising or promoting any website. It is common for blogs to feature banner advertisements or any company promotional content, either to financially benefit the blogger or to promote the blogger’s favorite causes or products. The popularity of blogs has also given rise to “fake blogs” in which a company will create a fictional blog as a marketing tool to promote a product.
